Our Mission
Taming Trauma is dedicated to cultivating connection and healing that transforms individuals and communities impacted by trauma through the following approaches:
- Â Community Healing Pods: through our dynamic trauma-informed intervention curricula, we encourage neighbors to meet in living rooms or online to share their experiences and pain, to be mutual partners in growth and healing.
- Vicarious Restorative Dialogue: we facilitate dialogue between people who have been harmed and people who have caused harm. Empirical evidence demonstrates that dialogue — not separation — fosters closure and healing.
- Legislative Model: we sponsor legislation that mitigates or prevents trauma in the work place, schools, carceral settings, and other institutions in our society.
